Flat Balls of Yarn

Flat yarn. Yarn not in skeins, not in balls. Yarn already knit, ready to be reborn into socks, like a phoenix. Yarn slightly unnerving to work with, rrrrrrip, knit, rrrrrip, knit; rrrrripping on purpose. Seems wrong. Yarn crimped and crinkled as you use it; looks like knitting with soft zippers. Weird. Lovely colors, no clue what the striping/pooling will look like. Hm.
